Burlington Aviation Acquires State Of The Art Flight Simulator
The Redbird FMX is the only one of its kind in North Carolina
October 12, 2009 (Burlington, NC)—
Burlington Aviation, a Cessna Pilot Center and FAA Part 141 flight school in
Burlington, NC, has added the Redbird FMX Flight Simulator to its arsenal of
eight aircraft. The Redbird FMX is a high-quality, feature-rich motion Advanced
Aviation Training Device that features wrap-around visuals, a fully enclosed
cockpit and a full motion platform.
Burlington Aviation is the only flight training school in North
Carolina making the Redbird FMX available to its students.
“We’re thrilled to add the Redbird FMX to our training process,”
says Alan Ostroff, Owner of Burlington Aviation. “We’ve long wanted to have a
simulator on site, but have not seen or experienced one that offered a flexible
and realistic flight experience until the Redbird. The combination of the
Redbird with our highly knowledgeable flight instructors will bring our students
the most comprehensive and reliable training experience imaginable.”
As an example, time spent training in the Redbird FMX can take
the place of 20 out of 40 hours of in-air instrument training, allowing pilots
more flexibility with their training schedules. The simulator can be used when
flying outside is not possible due to bad weather and also allows pilots the
ability to train in daylight during evening hours and vice versa. In addition,
bad weather and disaster situations that are not trainable in the air can be
simulated in the Redbird. Students can record and save all flight training data
on a unique Redbird USB pilot key allowing for detailed tracking and review with
an instructor.
“Only the real thing exceeds the realism of the Redbird FMX
flight simulator,” states Ostroff. The Redbird FMX has an all-electric platform
that provides fluid and consistent motion, 6 monitors dedicated only to external
views and can be reconfigured to represent all of the airplanes available in the
Burlington Aviation training fleet and others. Together these features allow for
the most realistic flying experience available in a simulator.
